Missing Gary Tweddle Book Part 2 – BACK PAGE BLURB

Why would an intelligent corporate executive attending a sales conference at an isolated  Blue Mountains resort, located on the wild rugged clifftop escarpment near Sublime Point,  suddenly run off and in the middle of a freezing winter’s night?

British-born IT sales executive with Oracle Corporation, 23-year-old Gary Tweddle ran alone out of the Fairmont Resort in Leura around midnight with his mobile phone, and was last seen by a local driver running along Sublime Point Road in darkness after midnight.

“Hundreds of friends, family and Oracle employees plastered missing posters on every corner of Leura and Katoomba. More than 800 people (including myself) from SES, RFS, Police, plus other volunteers, searched for him for weeks afterwards.”

~ SES volunteeer Christopher Webber, involved in the search for Gary.

This local author, a nearby long-time Katoomba local and tour operator, recalls the news at the time and of the dedicated search response by so many local volunteers supporting the official search operation.  Gary’s bizarre disappearance would spark one of the largest searches ever conducted in Blue Mountains history.   At the time, many raised questions and possibilities as to why, what and where about missing Gary.

This web-book presents a fully researched, ‘ground-truthed’, and detail account. It has added analysis of this true and sad story, addressing the questions about what happened to Gary.  It reveals what the media missed, got wrong, a fluke find, what detectives later uncovered, but more disturbingly is it a revelation of a deeper cultural cause underlying Gary’s disappearance?

As a web-book, this is an not-for-profit initiative of Nature Trail to provide a free-read book universally online in a convenient reading format, one short chapter at a time.
