NSW Central Tablelands

Since we are based in Katoomba which is situated toward the western side of the Blue Mountains Region, we have ready access westward into the New South Wales Central Tablelands, including the areas listed below.

Full-Day Tours

Our policy is that all visited areas beyond a 50km road radius of Katoomba, warrant a multi-day trip. We justify this on the basis that the value our tours are all about local experiences more so than time spent travelling on highways.

Locations on the 50 km radius limit from Katoomba are

Kanimbla Valley
Megalong Valley – to Dunphy’s Campground on the edge of wilderness
Cox’s River Valley – where the historic Six Foot Track traverses
Oberon District – including the celebrated Mayfield Garden

2-Day Tours

Two-Day trips extend to a 100km radius limit from Katoomba – out to the following locations: Bathurst, Turon Gates, Glen Davis, Black Springs, and Jenolan Caves.

However, in most cases we prefer to extend our duration to multi-day tours in order to better experience the features, insights and benefits of these destinations and the journeys out and return.

We are quite flexible with these 2-day accommodated tours, and will assist in arranging accommodation, catering and site guides. We also encourage tag-along vehicle trips and can help arrange car hire appropriate for a given trip scenario.

Please note that trips involving overnight pack camping are restricted to our Trekking offerings.

Multi-Day Road Tours (3 days or more)

We also offer multi-day tours further afield in what we term Deep Country Escapes.

These can be country road tours and/or combine with selected day hiking trips, according to the group interests expressed at the time of booking. We are quite flexible with these extended tours, and will assist in arranging accommodation, catering and site guides. We also encourage tag-along vehicle trips and can help arrange car hire appropriate for a given trip scenario.
