Our new hiking personal locator beacon (PLB) for 2026 – a GME Accusat MT620GR

We just bought this device on 15th September 2026.  It cost us AUD$569 via ARB Penrith down the Mountains.

We already had an previous model (an Aussie GME Accusat MT410G), but the battery had expired and so we decided to upgrade…for reasons readers might realise.

To hikers in distress, this emergency device is pure gold.
